How to turn your BALL HEAD into a GIMBAL for wildlife photography

Views:55302|Rating:4.98|View Time:8:7Minutes|Likes:2387|Dislikes:11
In this episode of Photographer’s Friday I am telling about how I use my different tripod heads and how I actually often use my ball head as a gimbal head for both my Tamron 150-600mm and my Nikon 600mm f4.

to see more of photos and to read my behind the scenes stories.

This is the Gimbal style head I am using in the video:
And this is the Ball head:

For me, the best tripod for wildlife photography is the one I am bringing with me all the time and the best tripod head is the one I can use for most of my photography.
Very often I leave the tripod at home, if it is too big and bulky, but I am actually trying to change that:)

for If you are doing wildlife or bird photography or other kind of nature photography where you are using big lenses, I think it is worth it to buy a good quality oversized ball head for your tripod, because it gives you the option to use it as a gimbal style head.

In Photographer’s Friday I share my photography tips and camera technics and tell about how I plan my trips and stuff like that. My goal is to inspire as many as possible and to share my fascination of nature and wildlife photography.

Nikon Z6 for Wildlife Photography? | First impressions

Views:2298|Rating:4.55|View Time:13:33Minutes|Likes:140|Dislikes:14
Hey Guys, Hows it going? I hope you are well!

It’s a new year and I want to kick it off with a camera I’ve been keen to get my hands on ever since it was announced. The NIKON Z 6!
I was lucky enough to get a camera loaned to me for 2 weeks by Nikon UK and so will be out putting it to the test over the next week – more videos to come!

If you want your own Z 6 you can pick them up from Wex in the UK – any purchases help me and this channel without any extra cost to you!

As a long term Nikon shooter the mirrorless Z series looks to be an exciting development. The key reason for me is all about video (mainly for this channel) as well as stripping down weight for a lighter back up camera in the field.

I wanted to get the camera out in the field and use it as a primary camera for some wildlife shooting, focusing on testing out the new AF system, EVF and the basic performance when looking to photograph wildlife on location.

What are your thoughts on the new Nikon Z 6? Are you excited for what’s coming and planning on purchasing? If you have any questions you want answered let me know down in the comments and I’ll do my best to test them out for the next video!

I’ll be posting more images form my Z 6 testing over on my Instagram account in the next week so be sure to check it out and drop me a follow @TomMasonPhoto
