KEEPING FILM PHOTOGRAPHY ALIVE…(2016 RETROSPECT)

Views:4348|Rating:4.86|View Time:13:15Minutes|Likes:104|Dislikes:3
This is going to be a year end review of my favorite photographs taken by me in 2016. At the beginning of the year I was so uninspired with taking pictures that I decided to feed this creative void with something I knew little about…..(daily vlogging). After making it almost 5 months straight without missing a day I found myself so burned out almost hating the process of filming my day to day that I found myself with a film camera in my hand again. Longing for the simplicity of the single picture. Missing the process of shooting, developing, scanning, editing and having the final print in hand I decided to put an end to the vlog. Thank god! Don’t get me wrong I am so thankful for the all that I learned about shooting video and I’ll forever have this moment in time saved forever.
I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to document my photography process and share it with you guys in 2017! I have 2 books planned to be released this year and I also have a ton of content scheduled including film stock/camera reviews along with a couple tutorials on film developing and scanning. So yeah…Thanks for everyone who’s subscribed in the past couple of months!!!!! Don’t forget new videos and Wednesday and Sunday!!!!

If you just came for the photos 5:42

••• ABOUT THIS EPISODE •••
————————————————-

In the winter time it is very difficult to get to the oxen and back again in one day and further more I like to stay for several days on location to get the different weather – therefore I have brought my tent and equipment so I am able to camp in this amazing winter landscape.

In this VLOG i do my very best to share how I work as a wildlife photographer and how I overcome the challenges. Hopefully I can inspire you to get out on your own photo adventures – no matter if it is to the local forest or to the highest mountains. Most important is the amazing experiences nature gives.

Join me on this nature photography journey and enjoy the snow covered mountains, the muskoxen and the beautiful northern lights.

Illuminating photography: From camera obscura to camera phone – Eva Timothy

VIew full lesson:

The origins of the cameras we use today were invented in the 19th century. Or were they? A millenia before, Arab scientist Alhazen was using the camera obscura to duplicate images, with Leonardo da Vinci following suit 500 years later and major innovations beginning in the 19th century. Eva Timothy tracks the trajectory from the most rudimentary cameras to the ubiquity of them today.
