Essays by TOM DOYLE

Music photographer Tom Sheehan first met R.E.M. in 1984, being compelled initially both by their southern strangeness and unique alternative twist on ‘60s folk rock and jangle. “Our first encounter was all very swift as most of these encounters are,” he remembers. “Punk had gone past and there was this whole rush of new American music. It was that thing that we love so much about people redefining what you think about music.”

Between 1984 and 2005, Sheehan would capture a succession of iconic images of R.E.M. In singer Michael Stipe, himself a photographer, he found a subject utterly aware and alive inside the lens. “He understands an image,” says Sheehan. “For me, it’s about capturing a band at a point in time. I only play one instrument, the camera.”

Hubsan X4 H107C (video camera edition)

Views:69455|Rating:4.85|View Time:8:16Minutes|Likes:164|Dislikes:5
Hello everyone! This is a unboxing and flight review of the new Hubsan X4 H107C! I had waited a long time for this little quad to be released and now that I have it I couldn’t wait a day longer to fly it!

If you already own a Hubsan X4 H107L you will only see a few changes in this model. One of these changes is that it now carries a small video camera beneath its belly. It records in standard def and I can barely notice any sound recording. If I listen very hard and turn up the volume on my laptop I can make out that it did record sound. I don’t know if this is a problem with only my qaud or all of them. Anyways, no one really records sound using a multi rotor because you will only pick up the motors zipping around.

Another thing you will notice is that the motors are larger and the battery is larger as well. This with the addition of a camera makes the Hubsan X4 H107C almost 50 percent heavier than the H107L. She still climbs and has a top speed similar to that of the H107L but she isn’t as nimble.

The video camera is ok for what you pay for. The frame rate is fair but the colors seem to fade in and out. Because the H107C is easily blown around by the wind and she likes to fly fast the video you record never seems as nice as with perhaps a larger quad. I would buy the H107L If you were not really interested in recording videos. If you are interested in recording videos I think the V959 does it better with its stock camera for about the same price.

Over all this little quad is a blast to fly! The price is good and the construction is solid. She will fly great in doors as well as out side with a flight time around 6 minutes. You can make adjustments to your quad from the Tx like shutting off the lights, disabling stunt mode and switching from normal to expert modes which I find useful. Solid buy!

If you have any questions about the H107C please feel free to post comments on my video. I will try to respond as quickly as I can…

Zara Zara : RHTDM (Home Edition Dance Cover – Self Videography) – Priya Varunesh Kumar

Views:112|Rating:4.80|View Time:2:58Minutes|Likes:24|Dislikes:1
Hello peeps,

I have been doing this for a while now. Except I never said it explicitly.
So here it is.

I like filming my own videos 😀

Okay I know a lot of you will be like “No but a professional camera person will make it look more professional”.
Well, thats true, and of course I love every video I create with all my favourite photographers (and those are the videos that actually go out for promotions whenever I want shows for Piah Dance Company).

But there has always been this aspect of wanting to create home videos, choreograph it, film it myself, edit and upload and see your reaction. The “Why” of creating videos is, when I started making Youtube videos first, the reason was that I wanted to create a platform for myself to practice, practice and perform so that I could get better as a performer. Home practice videos is something I highly recommend to everyone, irrespective of how established or not you are as an artist. Everyone needs to improve in their craft and making home videos is such a speedy way of doing the same.It helps you record and document your progress from time to time, sitting at home 🙂

Oh and also, I asked for some lovely feedback about how I should repaint my walls and a lot of you gave me the suggestion of painting it white with folk art on it.

Hopefully you might get to see some actual good looking walls in a month or so , and till then let me make peace with “A dance video thats made out of love is always good, walls or no walls, paint or no paint”.

So here it is.
A choreography for you.
From the movie RHTDM, one of my favourite Bollywood movies as a teenager.

And for those of you who don’t know what RHTDM is , you have missed out on an extremely hilarious movie (dont expect some Nolan type direction, but you can appreciate the movie for what it offers).

Enjoy 🙂
