1. Patrick Ekeng (26 March 1990 – 6 May 2016)

Seven minutes after his entrance, with his team leading 3–2, he collapsed. He was transported and resuscitated at the hospital, and within two hours the medical staff confirmed that he had died. The cause of death was a suspected heart attack. He was 26 years old.

2. Nodar Kumaritashvili (25 November 1988 – 12 February 2010)

Kumaritashvili was fatally injured in a crash during his final training run at the Whistler Sliding Centre when he lost control in the penultimate turn of the course and was thrown off his luge and over the sidewall of the track, striking an unprotected steel support pole at the end of the run. He was travelling at 89.2 mph at the moment of impact.

3. Hank Gathers (February 11, 1967 – March 4, 1990)

Gathers collapsed on Sunday, March 4, 1990, in Los Angeles, Hank collapsed. He was found to have an abnormal heartbeat (exercise-induced ventricular tachycardia), and was prescribed a beta blocker, Inderal.

He attempted to get up, telling the trainers, “I don’t want to lay down!”, then shortly after stopped breathing. Gathers died soon thereafter at a nearby hospital. He was 23 years old.

4. Marco Campos (24 February 1976 – 15 October 1995)

Campos was killed in an accident at the season-ending race in Magny Cours. On the last lap of the season finale, on the straight before the Adelaide hairpin, his left front tyre collided with the right rear tyre of Thomas Biagi’s car while racing, and was launched into the air.

His car flipped over, and Campos’ head struck the top of the concrete retaining wall whilst flying upside-down. The accident resulted in severe skull fractures, and massive head trauma and put him into a deep coma. Campos died the following day.

5. Donald Campbell (23 March 1921 – 4 January 1967)

Donald Campbell deid a split second before breaking his own water speed record in his jet-powered boat, the Bluebird K7. He was travelling at more than 300mph Water when the boat was catapulted 50ft into the air after its nose lifted.

46 year old Mr Campbell was killed instantly as the boat hit the water and immediately disintegrated. Despite extensive efforts by a team of Royal Navy divers, although Bluebird’s wreckage was located on 5 January, on the lake bed, Campbell’s body was not located until 2001.

6. Perro Aguayo Jr (July 23, 1979 – March 21, 2015)

Aguayo died from a cervical spine trauma, reportedly as a result of a dropkick by Mysterio Jr. that propelled him forward to the ring ropes, causing severe whiplash trauma that snapped his neck. The cause of death was later announced as cardiac arrest, due to a cervical stroke caused by three fractured vertebrae.

7. Dale Earnhardt (April 29, 1951 – February 18, 2001)

Earnhardt was involved in a three-car accident on the final lap of the race, in which he collided with Ken Schrader after making small contact with Sterling Marlin and hit the outside wall head-on.

Earnhardt’s death was officially pronounced at the Halifax Medical Center Earnhardt was 49 years old at the time of his death. An autopsy conducted on February 19, 2001 concluded that Earnhardt died instantly of blunt force trauma to his head due to the accident. It also reported that Earnhardt sustained a fatal basilar skull fracture.

8. Mark Porter (2 October 1974 – 8 October 2006)

Mark lost control of his car at 120 mph. He stalled in the middle of the track and was a sitting duck when the rest of the field came roaring through. Chris Alajajian connected with the tail of Porter’s car. David Clark, however, in an effort to avoid the stalled Porter, slid his car sideways whilst travelling at high speed.

The front right hand side of his car hit the drivers side door of Porter’s car, crushing the side of the car. The front right hand of Porter’s car also hit the drivers door of Clark, critically injuring him. Marshals were quick to arrive at the scene where one, unable to open the driver’s door on Porter’s car, opened the rear door in an attempt to check his condition.

Both drivers were unconscious at the time. Porter was taken by ambulance to Hospital and later that day airlifted to the Hospital in Sydney with serious head and chest injuries but died in late afternoon of Sunday 8 October 2006 as the feature race was concluding.

URBAN PHOTOGRAPHY TUTORIAL – 7 Tips For Amazing Angular Architectural Photography

Views:40772|Rating:4.85|View Time:9:22Minutes|Likes:728|Dislikes:22
Here are 7 great tips from Ray Scott that will make your architecture photography pop. In this episode of Neighbourhood Photographer, the emphasis is on shooting up toward the sky while photographing modern urban buildings. While old city structures are terrific subjects, Ray concentrates on newer more modern buildings that have dynamic surfaces and angles. He gives photography tips on what aperture to use, what lens, how and where to stand and much more. There is no right or wrong way to do this kind of image making but keeping a sharp eye for angles and how buildings relate to each other can be helpful. Ray usually does this kind of work hand holding his camera but of course a tripod can assist a great deal especially when light is low. This type of photography looks great when converted to black and white but Ray suggests not to ignore the buildings that offer great color photos too.

When in studio or in the field Ray uses Canon gear. This is a choice he made years ago knowing that he was buying into a system that he could grow into. His go to camera is the Canon EOS 6D with the second camera being a Canon 5D. Lenses used are all L series f/4 except for the 50mm macro with extender. 16-35mm f/4L, 24-105mm f/4L, and 70-200mm f/4L round out the kit which is carried about with either a Lowepro Urban Reporter 250 messenger bag for city shooting or a Lowepro Sling Bag for landscape field work. While Ray does more camera handholding than before due to the image stabilization capabilities of his various lenses, he still is a believer in using his Manfrotto carbon fibre tripod. It’s light and it is sturdy.

Ray is a firm believer in exposing himself to as much photography and its history as possible. By looking at other people’s photos, he has gained a big appreciation of what this medium has to offer. Ray doesn’t think that “copying” someone else’s style is a good thing but rather feels that exposing oneself to others work can work as a teaching and inspirational tool. With this in mind, Ray has amassed a list of favorite photographers that he uses for inspiration. Some of these artistic photographers are Galen Rowell, Ansel Adams, Frans Lanting, Annie Leibovitz, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Freeman Patterson, William Neill and Richard Avedon.

One of the playlists on this channel is called “neighbourhood photographer” which covers tutorials shot in urban and suburban areas. It’s always a challenge to see different things of interest when you’ve been to an area many times yet this is the best way to create good images. You need to return to familiar locations many times. To do so, Ray often drives by car to an area but when he really wants to cover ground yet see things more clearly, he uses his bicycle…bike…and explores the given place.

Whether shooting landscape, macro, portrait or abstract images, Ray always tries to be aware of his surroundings to capture the best pictures possible. Part of this workflow means he is very aware of composition and uses various tips, such as the rule of thirds, as a good starting point in composing. He also likes to break rules from time to time to add new effects to his photos. Being aware of angles, shadows, shapes, lines, textures, patterns and colours goes a long way to making good pictures. He is also a big believer in “getting out there” and shooting as much as possible as it is the only way to improve and flex one’s imagination. His message is it doesn’t matter if you do your photography in the city, suburbs country, mountains or by the sea, just make sure you do it and follow your artistic passion.

Sony Video Camera Microphone Holder Too Big For Shotgun Mic-DIY Fix-Rode NTG

Views:6705|Rating:4.92|View Time:4:24Minutes|Likes:61|Dislikes:1
In this DIY video I show you how to fit a smaller diameter shotgun microphone into the mic holder on your Sony video camera. Sony makes the shotgun mic holder to fit only their brand mics and it is larger diameter than many aftermarket shotgun mics like the Rode NTG series of mics.

I have a Rode NGT 3 and it is way too small in diameter to be clamped into the Sony mic holder on my Sony PXW X-70. You can go buy a Sony Microphone Spacer for $39,99 or you can watch as I make my mic fit for $2.35 at the hardware store. This is a super quick DIY and better than using plumbers tape or electrical tape in my opinion. It is a hassle to Sony Video Camera Mic Sleeve Too Big Fix 1have to take tape off and on when moving your shotgun mic from on camera to a boom pole.

I ended up using rubber heater hose that is 1″ outer diameter and 3/4″ inner diameter. It is sold by the foot, so I had the guy at the hardware store cut a 1 1/2″ inch length piece off. You can make multiple mic sleeves with a one foot piece of hose.

Easily slip that piece of heater hose over your shotgun mic and it snugs down perfect when clamping the mic holder down on the camera.
