BEAT GREY SKY FATIGUE WITH SEASCAPES | Landscape Photography

Views:642|Rating:4.94|View Time:12:27Minutes|Likes:89|Dislikes:1
At this time of year Grey Sky Fatigue can be a real problem for landscape photographers with seemingly never ending overcast conditions. In this week’s vlog I head to the coast in search of a cure. I end up shooting some seascape landscape photography at a beautiful tiny little cove hidden away on the west coast of the Isle of Man. As you can expect the weather was pretty grey, flat and boring but I tend to find that seascapes still work surprising well in these conditions and they even excel to some extent. So if you find yourself low on motivation due to the never ending overcast conditions…head to the coast!

As always thanks very much for watching. If you have not yet done so please consider subscribing for more landscape photography adventures. Thank you 😀

WHY ARE SEASCAPES SO DIFFICULT? | Landscape Photography

Views:1207|Rating:4.96|View Time:11:31Minutes|Likes:122|Dislikes:1
Happy New Year everyone! I’m kick starting my 2019 with a vlog focusing on seascapes and why I find them so difficult to get right. For this shoot I visit the absolutely stunning White Beach near Niarbyl on the south west coast of the Isle of Man. What I thought would be a fairly flat and overcast day turns out to be totally different with some beautiful sunset light and some pretty epic seascape images.

As always thanks very much for watching. If you have not yet subscribed to my channel please consider doing so. I’m really looking forward to 2019 and where I can take my photography. Hope you can join me for the journey 🙂

Discovering an EPIC WATERFALL | Landscape Photography

In this week’s vlog I make the most of some rainy weather to visit some stunning waterfall locations around the Isle of Man to capture long exposures of them in beautiful full flow. The first location I visit is Glen Wyllin on the west coast of the island where I hunt for my ideal composition of a simple yet very pretty cascade. This is just the starter though to the main course that’s to come…!

After here I head into the mountains in search of a brand new waterfall which I’ve never photographed and is actually so remote and difficult to reach, that few people have likely ever photographed it full stop. What I discover totally blows me away and is now my de facto ‘Favourite Waterfall on the Isle of Man’. I felt like a proper explorer in this vlog and it’s moments like these that really underline why I love landscape photography as much as I do. Join me on my journey to these wonderful locations and I’ll explain my settings, composition approach and some practical tips for waterfall landscape photography.

Thanks very much for watching. If you have not yet done so please consider subscribing to my channel 🙂

Flat Light & Barbed Wire Battles | Landscape Photography

Views:53|Rating:5.00|View Time:12:45Minutes|Likes:9|Dislikes:0
In this week’s vlog I hike through the hills of the Isle of Man in search of three different picturesque ruins or Tholtans as they are referred to in Manx. I had never photographed or visited any of these ruins before so this was really an adventure into the unknown. However my trip takes an expected turn for the worst when I injure myself on a barbed wire fence. Thankfully the incident wasn’t too bad but it could have easily been much worse and highlights the dangers of adventurous solo trips into remote locations. To add to my woes my trip is plagued with flat light totally in contrast to the predicted weather. Do I manage to overcome these challenges and get an image? You’ll have to watch to find out.

As always, thanks very much for watching. If you have not yet done so, please consider subscribing for more videos in the future 😀

Beautiful Waterfalls & a Broken Tripod | Autumn Landscape Photography

It’s that wonderful time of year again…Autumn!!! In this video I explore Ballaglass Glen on the Isle of Man which is a well known autumnal beauty spot with stunning deciduous woodland and streams running through. At the weekend the Isle of Man was drenched by rain for pretty much 48 hrs non-stop! This resulted in the streams running way higher than normal leading to some wonderful waterfall landscape photography opportunities. Combined with the first colours of autumn starting to really show, I was spoilt for choice in what to shoot. The trip didn’t go entirely to plan however…RIP Tripod. A fantastic day overall though with some great Autumn shots in the bag.

As always thanks very for watching. Any likes, comments or subscribes would be very much appreciated 🙂
