  1. QOTD ⚡ Are you thinking about upgrading your camera this year? Which brand or model are you looking at? *** Trying to decide between a DSLR or Mirrorless camera and camcorder like the Canon VIXIA? Check my video revealing the PROS and CONS of each here ➡️ https://youtu.be/pg5ET5zctzk

  2. I recently ordered an M50. Went Canon after a Nikon 15+ year experience. Pretty excited honestly. BHPhoto is a great place to shop (even if from across the country). Thanks for the info on all sorts of products.

  3. I love it! I would love to upgrade to this camera. While I love how I can switch from taking beautiful photos and shooting video with my Canon DSLR, I think this would be a pretty great upgrade. I’m excited because I think video is becoming more powerful in impacting people and this a moving forward! Thanks for sharing.

  4. I can do all this with my modified yi 4k plus.
You can also modify a gopro 7 black for 10 mp vari focus lenses. For less money (maybe).
Although I suggest buying a pre-modified one vs doing it yourself.

  5. I am very interested in this new video camera. This camera would be a major investment though, I have been looking at some the Sony 4k camcorders. I do own a Canon DSLR 7D now that I have planned on using to start my new channel this year. Great video thanks for the heads up. P.S. you could use a pop filter with that mic.

  6. Curious if the HDMI output is clean, because then you could also use this camcorder in a live streaming setup. Does anyone know?

  7. I think this is what id want for Magic the gathering play test sessions and still be able to do daily vids and vlog all in one.

  8. I just got a 360 vr camera this week and my friend is connecting me with someone selling a newer video camera.
We currently just use my phone and a 10 year old handy cam, so 2019 is the year to upgrade. LOL

  9. Based on very recent experience: Don't buy a camcorder if you shoot in low light conditions.

I bought a Panasonic 4k camera (around £600) but was atrocious in low lights. I deliver seminars in conference centers and lighting there is not optimised for video production.

So, I returned it and bought Canon 200d (SL2) and the results are amazing!

My understanding is that all camcorders struggle in low lights unless you shoot in 4k. That brings new problems in terms of file size and processing time in post production.

  10. I plan on upgrading this year. I am currently using the Canon EOS Rebel T5i. I want to get into cinematography, but I also want to start a blog, so I was thinking of a Sony E Mount Full Frame or the Canon EOS R.

  11. This camera looks legit man!!! I dunno if it will ever be a Vlogger camera though since it's a cam corder. Not sure how it will end up. Definately has a lot of features though on it. As far as your question goes I don't look like I'll be upgrading my camera this year as I just got it couple months ago and I love it with my lenses I have already. Cheers

Keep killing 2019 Sean! and to everyone else reading this Good Luck in 2019!

  12. Sean, I just wanna say, 2019 is going to be the best youtube year of my life. Your book is so helpful and has changed my whole view on my channel. Thank you so much ☺️

  13. The Sony AX700 I feel is a much better option.. for not really much that much more $.. it gives so many "pro" options that filmmakers can grow with.

  14. My plan is to upgrade to a video camera or camcorder but not sure what. I rent cameras all of the time but haven’t upgraded in years . I still own older Nikon DSL’s.

  15. I WAS planning on new camera this year, i wanted the canon m50, but now i am oubting, since this one is not that much more expensive. What would you recomment me Sean?

  16. Love the video Sean, decisions decisions I'm definitely in need of upgrading my DSLR as it's not cut out to do the type of projects I've got coming up this year.

  17. I was thinking about the BMPCC4K. But, now I hear that the next batch won't ship until April. The new Panasonic S1 full frame camera is coming out in March. As a film maker, I'm drawn to the color science of the BMPCC4K. But, as an owner of a GH5, I am also attracted to the Panasonic S1. So, those are the two cameras I'm considering for 2019.

  18. I love the idea of having an old school camcorder. There is nothing more frustrating than the 21 or so minute cut off.
