OUR PICKS & FULL REVIEWS

We earn a commision from some of the retailers we link below. Since Jan 2017 we have purchased all dash cameras we review. This is an older review and we have a few cameras we got for free. Go to the bottom for disclosure. We do not get paid by manufacturers. We only recommend products after many hours of research, hands-on testing and analysis.

#1 Viofo A119V2 – $100
Best value camera for most drivers. Stealthy, video quality, good reliability. Our updated review for the newer V2 model and why the A119S isn’t better:

#2 Blueskysea B1W
The A118C and the Viofo G1W-S are no longer recommended. Our new recommendation for the cheapest warm weather camera is the Blueskysea B1W – which is better than our previous picks. It adds WiFi functionality, is cheaper and more reliable. Review:

#3 Yi Dash Cam – $60 USD
The cheapest WiFi, rotating camera we recommend. Good reliability but it has a lithium-ion battery so don’t use it in hot environments. Our review:

#4 Transcend 200 – $100
For drivers in hot and humid environments who are on a budget and want a camera which has been proven to be reliable. If you don’t need that, look at the Yi or the A119 instead for better performance. Our Review:

  1. Best Dashcam review in the entire Youtube. This is the quality and information I was looking for. Really like the way you come back and update your review on changes and failures.

  2. I have R300 dash camera
Why its says after you turn off camera
    Its says
Format sd card two option show format sd card YES. No
    If i do not format
    Its dose not work
What should i have to do in this case

  3. I'm really upset with… youtube I guess. I bought several cams a couple of months ago. While searching for dash cam reviews, I didn't find your channel. That's strange, because not many people do this kind of reviews. It looks like Google does like to be evil nowadays.

  4. My viofo did not work for very long , started turning on and of recording files for no reason , I think it did not like the heat generated on windscreen or maybe I just got a lemon .

  5. I just need a camera that can record while im NOT driving the car, i need a camera that can record all night, any recommendations?

  6. Does Viofo make a 360 degree mount for their 118 or 119 models? and…is either one better than a Yi for cold weather? I live in northern USA and dont need all the bells and whistles, but 360 degree rotation would be nice for recording road ragers. Any opinion would be appreciated..

  7. Hi there, Its really nice watched your helpful reviews on dash cam. I need an advice on budged dash cam that can also recording inside the cabin. Looking forward for your suggestion. Thanks

  8. Love your videos, Andrew. No hype, honest opinion, thorough testing, and (best of all) comparison video with day and night views. Solid, dude.

  9. Great videos I watched your top budget cams of 2017 and Im going to buy either the a119s or the cheaper version depending on how much i can get in in UK, i also watched your video on dash memory cards which ill also be buying the transcendent card. Not many in depth reviews like these on dash cams and they are a device that get used a lot and cant fail and so its important people buy dash cams with the best advice taken on board.

  10. Why is the supercapacitor better than li-on if it shuts down immediately? When the car is parked wouldn't the power help record in event of an incident (motion or impact)? Or would it be necessary to use  a power pack or hard wire to maintain parking mode?
